Hello everyone! My name is Michelle Harris and I am the art teacher this year! This is my third year teaching art. I graduated from KU with a BFA in Design in 2007. I then went on to be a graphic designer for some sign companies in the Olathe/Overland Park areas. Designing things for the Chiefs, Royals, the Just For Her Event that happens every year at the Overland Park Convention Center, Lenny's Sub shop, and various coffee shops just to name a few. My husband's name is Matt and we have two active boys, Andrew (10) and Luke (7). They both go to school in Gardner where we live. Three years ago, I was laid off from my graphic design job due to COVID slowing the business down and was pretty bummed. Since I was little, I've wanted to be a teacher, but creating on the computer led me to graphics. After I was laid off, I decided to look into becoming a teacher. I just completed the Transitioning to Teaching program at Fort Hays State University to get my degree in teaching! I also love camping, baking, painting, coloring, KU basketball, Diet Pepsi and M&Ms. I am very excited for my third year and to teach the students about ART!!!
